Solar System Overview

What is a Solar System?

A solar power system harnesses sunlight to generate electricity, providing an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional energy sources.

Key Components:

1. Solar Panels: Capture sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC) electricity.

o Efficiency: 17%–22%.

o Power Output: 300W–500W per panel.

o Lifespan: 25–30 years.

2. Inverters: Convert DC electricity into alternating current (AC) for appliances.

o Efficiency: 95%–98%.

3. Energy Storage (Optional): Batteries store excess electricity for later use.

o Battery Capacity: 5 kWh to 15 kWh.

o Lifespan: 8–15 years (lithium-ion technology).

4. Charge Controller: Regulates voltage and current for systems with batteries.

System Types:

• Grid-Tied Systems: Connected to the grid, enabling users to sell excess electricity.

• Off-Grid Systems: Operates independently, suitable for remote locattons.

• Hybrid Systems: Combines grid-tted and off-grid features with backup batteries.

Installation Requirements:

• Roof Area: Approximately 10m² per kW of capacity.

• Orientatton and Tilt: Panels are posittoned for opttmal sunlight capture.

How Solar Works:

1. Solar panels collect sunlight, producing DC electricity.

2. The inverter converts DC to AC electricity for use.

3. Excess energy is stored in batteries or exported to the grid.

Advantages:

• Reduces electricity bills and carbon emissions.

• Durable with low maintenance requirements.

• ROI achieved in 5–7 years, with savings lasttng over two decades.

Challenges:

• Inittal installatton cost can be high.

• Dependent on weather and roof space availability.

We will issue an quotation affer calculate customer monthly usage.

- Basically monthly payment RM 300 and above worth to apply solar system

- To save RM 300 monthly electtc bill will cause customer around 16000 to do the installation

- We mainly focus on rooftop installation

Procedure

- Step 1 – Terra Energy will send a technician do a site visit

- Step 2 – Apply Nem

- Step 3 – Installation

- Step 4 – Waiting for NEM approval

- Enjoy Solar Power

Key Documents Required for NEM Application

1. Applicant Information:

• Identification Documents:

o For individuals: Copy of NRIC or passport.

o For companies: Company registration certificate (e.g., SSM documentation).

• Contact Information: Address, email, and phone number.

2. Property Details:

• Property Ownership Proof:

o Title deed or Tenancy Agreement (if rented).

• Electricity Account Details:

o A copy of the latest electricity bill from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

o Ensure the name on the electricity account matches the applicant or the property owner.

3. Technical Documentation:

• Solar System Design:

o System layout diagram showing panel placements and inverter connection.

o Single-line diagram of the system.

• System Capacity Details:

o Total installed capacity in kilowatts (kW).

o Inverter capacity and model.

• Equipment Certifications:

o Certificates for solar panels and inverters (e.g., IEC or TUV certifications).

4. Installation Contractor Documents:

• Registered Solar PV Contractor Details:

o Company proffle and proof of license as a registered Renewable Energy Service Provider (RESP) with the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA).

• Work Schedule:

o Proposed timeline for system installation and commissioning.

5. Financial Information:

• Payment Receipt:

o Proof of application fee payment (if applicable).

• Investment Agreement:

o If the system is funded by a third party, provide the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) or leasing terms.

6. Safety and Compliance:

• Approval from Local Authorittes:

o Permit or approval from local councils for installation (if required).

• Structural Safety Report:

o If installing on rooftops, a report confirming the roof’s structural integrity.

7. Other Supporting Documents:

• NEM Agreement Form: Completed and signed form from the SEDA NEM portal.

• Declaration of Self-Consumption: A declaration outlining how the solar system will offset your electricity usage.

Application Process Summary

1. Register on SEDA's NEM Portal: NEM SEDA Malaysia Portal.

2. Upload Documents: Submit all the required documents through the online portal.

3. Approval from TNB: After SEDA's approval, TNB will assess the system design and issue approval for interconnection.

4. System Installatton: Proceed with installation upon approval.

5. Final Inspection and Metering: TNB will inspect and install the bi-direct tonal meter for NEM.

Tips for a Smooth Process:

• Engage with a qualified and registered solar PV contractor—they often handle most of the paperwork for you.

• Ensure that all details (e.g., name on the electricity bill, system specifications) match precisely to avoid delays.

• Stay updated on the latest NEM policies as they may evolve (e.g., NEM Rakyat, NEM Nova).

EV Charger Overview What is an EV Charger?

An EV charger powers electric vehicles by delivering electricity to charge their batteries. It enables sustainable transportation and reduces reliance on fossil fuels.

Key Types:

1. Level 1 (Home Charging):

o Standard 120V outlet.

o Adds 8–12 km of range per hour. 2. Level 2 (Fast Home/Commercial Charging):

o 240V outlet or dedicated charger.

o Adds 30–60 km of range per hour. 3. DC Fast Charging:

o We are not provide DC changer service.

Charging Speeds:

• 7kW (AC): Ideal for residential setups, adding ~40–50 km of range per hour.

• 22kW (AC): Commercial locations, adding ~120 km of range per hour.
